Microsoft to Use OpenAI’s GPT-4 for Enhanced Productivity in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
In a recent announcement, Microsoft stated that it would be incorporating OpenAI’s latest artificial intelligence (AI) platform, chat GPT-4, into its software suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. The new technology would enable AI-powered assistants, called Copilots, to generate whole documents, emails, and slide decks from knowledge gained from scanning corporate files and listening to conference calls.

It can also create emails and slideshows based on the plan and make design changes as per the user’s request.
One of the significant advantages of the new technology is the ability to pull together data from different silos, providing workers with access to information previously difficult to obtain. For instance, users can request information on a customer, including the last time they were met and all documents written about them, and the Copilot will summarize the information.
The technology also offers transparency in the information it uses, embedding links to relevant files when it creates a plan or email. This feature ensures that workers can easily verify the information presented by the Copilot.
